I had a book that did the same thing/idea, but with Civil War landmarks. They used pictures of reenactors though. IMO, it looked kinda silly, but neat idea though.

Here's another one I did that didn't come out too bad. I can see that you almost need to go out to the location with the historical picture and match the angles as much as possible.

If I had made the picture I'd have had the t-shirt guy stand two steps to his right as well. Sorry for the size of the picture.

Yes, that is a place called "Devils Den" from the Gettysburg battlefield in Pennsylvania.

Hard to believe that the pic is roughly 150 years old. Looks like the guy was hardly older than 20.

Default Normandy pictures

Here you can find photos from Normandy - after the allied landings and from today: http://acidcow.com/pics/3772-normand..._204_pics.html
You can find some more on the website of this guy: http://www.6juin1944.com/album/thennow/index.php
On that page you can find more information about the time and place of the pictures - the other pictures/stuff there are also worth a look.

Wow...pretty good stuff there August, I like the Normandy ones...and that Civil War picture is damn clear for its age.

Looking at what he's created thus far makes him a natural in my eye
