Anže (the Ž letter is pronounced as J is pronounced in french name Jaque)

but the last name is a lot more interesting: Beton (google translate it into slovenian )

My family name was made into English more than a thousand years ago. The original name was Brodfeldt, and we were part of the Saxon invasion of England in the 400s. So we not only have been on the "wrong" side of most of the wars since (we also fought for the Normans), but we might even have fought against King Arthur!


[edit] It ended up a couple of posts lower, and I didn't notice at the time. This was in response to Betanov in post #20.

That's quite interesting though. I know very little of my family lineage. My great-grandparents immigrated from Prague and settled here to raise barley and corn. I wonder if any of my ancestors defenestrated (or were defenestrated!! ) anybody?
