Default Refueling..???

OK..here comes the noobiest question of the day...

I am on patrol, Philippines, 121 E/11N, and I just realized that my fuel is 33/100. I'm gussing I need to refuel.

How do I determine a base to refuel at?
Would I have to go back to Freemantle(don't think I can make that)?
Have I over extended my patrol reach and time and now am past a point of return?

Help!

You mean any Allied Base? With an Anchor icon? Surely not any base in the area..they are all Japanese held.

How cool wouldn't that be if you could sneak into an enemy harbour and steal some diesel?

Unfortunately SH IV doesn't support that... so yes, look for an anchor.

I don't think I'll make it back to Aussie on 1/3 remaining fuel..I suppose I need to think more about speed and patrol time usage next career.

Default Fuel

Cptroyce;
yes, fuel is something you definitely have to keep an eye on. If you run out of fuel there is no option for a tow or rescue.

For what it's worth my standard rule is once I reach the 50% fuel mark during a mission then I have to start thinking about;
a. where I am (current mission task),
b. where I'm going (next mission task), and
c. do I have enough fuel to continue and then head back.

Of course, any action during all of the above will cut into your estimates but fortunately you do have the "range at current speed" calculation button which helps a lot.
