Nor would they need to if UBI produced the subsims that we paid for.....

Why would I do that? Both games, patched (1.3 for SH3 and 1.5 for SH4), is what they delivered. There were patches along the way to those final versions which incrementally improved the games. They supported both for what I would considered a reasonable period of time (again, relative to industry standards). Of course the mods made them much better, but that's got nothing to do with my opinions vis a vis SH5.

This is all very subjective and I don't want to get into a pissing contest with you over this...

But IN MY OPINION, SH5 is not only dramatically inferior in quality - both initial release and after a couple of patches - to both the previous titles, but their attempts to reinvent the wheel in some critical areas (eg, interface) and introduce new elements in others (eg, the arcade-like mission objectives) are abject failures. Even if they had been developed to the point where they worked, I would still find them unwelcome and/or a waste of time.

Add to that the fact that the game is obviously incomplete (ends in 43, one sub type, limited number of unique merchants, pattern running torpedos that don't run patterns, all those missing command functions... more?) and the case is made, as far as I'm concerned.

Note: I didn't even mention DRM.

Anyway, the games shortcomings are well documented. So the the question is, will UBI support this thing until it's fixed?

OK, so I can't predict the future, and I may be jumping the gun here. But I've been buying and playing computer games since the early 80s. I've learned to read the signs... and the signs say this company has checked out on us. I suspect this happened long before SH5 was even released.

IMHO

Actually quite wise words these matey.

It is all subjective - you've played the game and made your mind up, and so have I

You see it as you describe it - I don't, and neither of us is wrong. I think that's why so many fights break out on these forums , because we all see the game differently.

What I see is a game (that if moddable) could quite easily replace SH3 as my favourite subsim. A game that still needs at least another patch mind you.

Wouldn't life be boring if we all saw things the same way?
