How that Admiral could keep a straight face is a tribute to military discipline.

No, Mr. Representative, islands don't tip over. Islands are actually the tippy top of big mountains starting at the bottom of the ocean.

Representative Johnson serves on the House Armed Services Committee...... and he bellieves that islands can capsize if you put too many people on them.

Actually, there is floating islands that could, given enough weigth on one side, dip over.

Maybe the whole idea was for us to believe that Guam was a solid island just waiting for the day when "too" many marines get deployed. All the Japanese would have to do is pull the string and <flip>!

Anyone see Al Gore on Conan O'Brien a while back? He claimed that the Earth's core was millions of degrees. ROFL.

You don't need to be bright to be a politician. I remember a US President who claimed he was campaigning in all 57 States. And another who gave condolences to the 10,000 people killed in a small town by a tornado the day before (it was really 10).
