You are SOOOOO wrong.

You buy a licence to use the product.

Quote:
1- The Licence

Ubisoft grants the User a non-exclusive and non-transferable Licence to use the Multimedia Product, but remains the owner of all the rights relating thereto.
Any rights not specifically transferred by this Licence remain the property of Ubisoft.
The Multimedia Product is licensed and not sold to the User, for private use.
The Licence does not confer any right or title to the Multimedia Product and cannot be understood as a transfer of intellectual property rights to the Multimedia Product.
If it was yours because you bought it, then you would be allowed to copy and sell it.
If you want to own the game then you can buy the rights to it. but it'll cost you alot more than buying a licence to play the game.

If you're renting the game (which is what a license basically is), if and when support for the game ceases, technically your money should be refunded or the product replaced. Rent a TV or washing machine, this is how it works.

If you rent a TV, when the rental time expires the TV is taken back. When software is no longer surported, you are still free to use that software within the EULA.

So what you are paying for is a lifetime licence. And as long as you use the software within the terms of the EULA, then the licence would not be revoked. So why would you get a refund???? you can still use the product.

No.
When you rent something you never get your money back.
You have an agreement as to how long your renting and
once that agreement is fulfilled?
You move along and the LandLord keeps the money.
Ubi can cancel your 'rent' at anytime.
It's a case of 'Buyer Beware'.

It's been well posted what was comeing!
Take your lumps like a Man.
And TRY to learn from this.

This is true. As a professional writer I run into this misinformation a lot, parcticularly from people who buy books and believe the book somehow is "theirs" to do with as they want. I know a lot of people want to believe the game (or book or music or whatever) "belongs" to them when they purchase it. But it actually doesn't; the copyright law says differently. Same for games, I'm afraid.

And, no, sorry to say, just because you can second sell some media doesn't mean it belongs to you. Sorry, guys, it just doesn't, and it never did.

drtechno, yes that's a satisfying shot to give. But the only thing worse than a sore loser, is a sore winner.

True. I do like it when fanboys suffer at the very hands of the thing they are defending. I'll be quiet now and go back into my SH4 hole

Please stop it with the name calling now. Please also stop trolling.

If you can't live by the rules here then I would ask that you post somewhere else.

Thanks

Not playing SH5 at all (didn't buy it due to DRM). Still on SH4. Anyway, I was just replying to (from this AM)-
"I just called [Ubi] their support, there is a UK phone number listed in the manual. This is what he said..

Their servers have been down since 4pm cet, they believe there has been another hacking attempt, and they are working right now to get the servers up and running again asap. We can't do much more but wait.

I asked if a refund is possible, he said not at the moment because there is nothing wrong with their product. But hackers are trying to destroy their copy protection system, and we all become victims as a result of it.

I asked if Ubisoft will release the game without DRM, he said they don't plan on that right now but they are looking into ways to secure their servers.

Well, didn't help me much, but at least we know whats going on. "

I'll keep my comments to that thread I suppose. Just being smug in that it has happened twice in 2 weeks and tomshardware.com is reporting that the first outtage was probably not a DOS attack (as Ubi publicly stated) but rather Ubi's own server problems. I suppose people know how to use google and can find that story for themselves. As I said, I'll just be smug and quiet for now.

Huh, did you say something?

Had 1 big outage at AC2 release, split into 2 parts. Then 5 minutes yesterday, and 5 minutes today.

Meh.

I'm in the same position ATM bit of spare time and can't play the game This has happened several times now bit of a pain TBH.

I have my eye on another UBI game due for release soon but it's gonna have the same DRM system it's making me think if it's worth buying after shelling out 28ukp for this one that I can't play because of THEIR server issues.

Ringy.

1) I've always been able to play SH5 so far.

2) Just curious.. Have you ever heard of ''NEUROSIS''

Effects and symptoms

Quote:
...anxiety, sadness or depression, anger, irritability, mental confusion, low sense of self-worth, etc., behavioral symptoms such as phobic avoidance, vigilance, impulsive and compulsive acts, lethargy, etc., cognitive problems such as unpleasant or disturbing thoughts, repetition of thoughts and obsession, habitual fantasizing, negativity and cynicism, etc. Interpersonally, neurosis involves dependency, aggressiveness, perfectionism, schizoid isolation, socio-culturally inappropriate behaviors, etc.
