- As a simulation, It has more functional details then SH5, though a bit less then SH3.

- I think It loads faster then SH3 and SH5.

Insert Goldilocks and the three bears metaphor here.
All of the above are why I play both SH3 and SH4. I love the work that has been done for SH3, but hate that the same work has not been done for SH4.

So relax, have fun, listen to the complaints (or ignore them) and go kill some stuff.

I really enjoy SH4 with Ducimus's mega mod. How could I compare, or even why would I compare when I'm having so much fun!

Nothing more soothing than hearing torpedo's exploding except maybe steel grinding on the ocean bottom or those strange breaking up sounds

Time for more COFFEE!!!!!!

SH4 is currently on the hard drive, but it's going back on once two things happen.

A: I subscribe to World of Warcraft for two months to get a friend of mine some in-game bonus as a horse trade for the processor he bought but couldn't use that now rests nestled in my motherboard. After that, as much as I sometimes like to yell 'For the Horde!' for no reason, that multi-gig monster is gone. City of Heroes is much more my speed.

and

B: I get the new video card I'm buying myself for my birthday. With the aforementioned processor, I should finally see what Pacific Environments or whatever the current high-standard visual mod is looks like at max settings.

So yeah, Ducimus, sink some for me. You'll be reinforced by the Seadragon in about a month.

I miss this game.

Bumpity.

Just have to say, my beleif that SH4 is the most versatile of the Silent hunter's has been reinforced that last few days.

Assuming you have the proper 3d modelling done for the interior. It's entirely possible to render an entire watch in 3d, complete with battle station posts, and damage control team. I'm not talking a few extra positions here or there, i mean, the entire freaking watch, and then some.

I sure hope Captain America and vickers03 finish their interior, i don't expect them to add all the extra crew renderings, but id take the job, a 3d interior is all i need! .

Getting antsy for something to mod I thought you would be having fun and enjoying your work. It is hard to keep your hands off when you see the potential of something.

Actually if I was not up to my armpits in moving boxes I'd take a stab at redoing Pearl, maybe start off small, perhaps Midway Bad bad addiction leave well enough alone and have fun. But it would be so much more fun with a better rendering of Pearl or Midway. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ducimus, you should take some time off from modding. Play the game you and everyone else who helped you out on TMO 2.0 intended. Enjoy! And thanks!

Pearl Harbor, with the boats and all, on 12/7 would be REALLY GOOD. I vote YES.

One more reason I like SH4......

You can play any time you want to, on any machine you want, free and independent of network conditions at ubisoft.

Well I got tired of not playing after a wonderfully timed power failure left Windows unable to detect either of my nVidia graphics cards. Just because I had this elaborate software system all assembled, the backup was creamed by the power failure and I was looking at a total system rebuild from a blank HD, I just limped along for a couple of months.

This morning I received the last serial number I needed for installed software, booted up the old Ubuntu 10.04 Live CD, fired up Gparted and wiped my C: drive clean, then formatted it NTFS. Been recreating the wheel ever since. Damn, it's as bad as I was afraid of....

But I'm looking at 1600x900 graphics for the first time in two months and at the end of the process I get to play SH4 again!

And I have a cute little EVGA GTS 250 sitting on my bookshelf just waiting to be tortured to within an inch of its life.
