As much as I want the collector's edition I'm not willing to pay $80

So, if you buy a UK game and try to activate it in the US or Canada, Ubi may laugh in your face.
Interesting. I bought my IL-2 1946 European edition from a shop in GB a couple of months before it was released in the US and never had problem one playing it here. Of course, I build my own systems so maybe its based on that as opposed to IP address?

On another note, thanks for the offer. I will keep this in mind if UBI loses their minds and decide not to offer a US CE.

I have decided, reluctantly, after all the aghast comments and posts regarding the excessive cost, to rescind my offer to ship the Collectors Edition out to people in the USA/Canada.

I do hope that anyone lookng for a copy is able to source one (and cheaper than I could, with 4 day shipping).

Regards,
Kevin.

This makes me a bit sad too, I was seriously considering your offer. Maybe for the best though, I'm so ready for this game I'll probably just get the downloadable version on launch day. Anybody know if it's going to be released on Steam? I can only tolerate so many download services on my PC.

What happens if you try to order through the Amazon UK site?

I get to checkout and it tells me they won't ship to my address. Clicking on "Help" then tells me that they'll only ship to Europe per the publisher's request.

Collectors edition is available in Australia so i don't think it's region dependable.Doesn't make a sense to make Collectors edition different for every region. btw it costs $108 AUD so Aussies get riped off again

Default same old story

The same old story is happening again. The E.U is getting the nice edition while we, in Canada/U.S.A are getting the extra documentary.

Why don`t UBI offer an Collector`s Edition with the extra documentary for everyone. I don`t get it.

I hope that someday, the North American will be able to get the same goodies.

Honestly, the best one so far as been the SH4 Collector`s Edition.

Welcome aboard Fragmate! Do you know what else the US version comes with? Is there a list somewhere?

I've run into the same sort of thing with audio books. I'll find something I want and since it hasn't been released in the States, they won't sell it to me. It has something to do with copyright laws or something I'm sure.

This is no different from us europeans trying to buy pc games from amazon.com. Most of the time they won't ship to europe, and it makes me a sad panda because some games are just not available here anymore.

Thanks for the Welcome Nisgeis.

I pre-ordered my copy from Gamestop Canada and here`s the details of the little extra we`re gonna get:

Includes the exclusive PBS documentary: “LOST & FOUND Legacy of the USS Lagarto.”

I had to wait a full year before buying a copy of the Silent Hunter 4 Collectors Edition cause it was way too expensive when it got out with the exclusive numbered certificates. I paid 60$ Cnd and i`m proud i did it. Like i said, it`s the nicest Collectors Edition i ever bought in all of my Pc games special edition. Tons of goodies in an awsome tin can.

I was hoping the same for SH5 but it seems that they`re not doing the same....sadly.

They should be aware that the peoples who`s buying that kind of simulation are long term customers if you know what i mean...so, they should give us a little more. I know that what`s important is the game it self but, a little extra would have been great for the fans of the SH series on both side of the ocean.
