These pictures are great! But I have to ask, why are American planes generically named still?

Where is a problem?
There is "Komet" too - german raider / auxiliary cruiser. Only one.
About tankers and other german ships - some can be leave in port, but I remember at the first years of war some german tankers refuel uboats.
Milk cows are other story.

However some struggle to appreciate the lack of what we already have, so therefor, well done Sir ParaB, and thank you. Good day.

Remember this is just a preview. We may not be seeing all ships in the game.

Ozzys problem, like mine, is with the Germans having a Liberty ship as part of their merchant fleet. But like I said, this is just a preview.

I think I recall some controversy regarding US companies claiming their WWII planes were copyrighted and couldn't be used without licensing fees. I don't recall if it was in relation to flight sims or modelling or if I'm just completely full of ****.

Sounds like typical Corporate American greed to me. But how could they still have a copyright on something they haven't manufactured in 70 years? Not to mention some of those manufacturers are non-existent today.

That aeroplane is clearly a catalina flying boat, am amazed at the number of ships here. They have clearly gone to town on recreating most major warships which leads me to believe we will see alot of scenarios (ie scharnhorst Gneisenau and Glorius battle, sinking of the ark royal...they so could have been lazy and used the model for the Illustrious class....etc.). here is also a model of the Queen Mary, and nearly every ship in the German surface fleet. Cant wait to get a close up view of the ships.

No, they have the Catalina, and always have. That is something different - three engines and three tails.

But I also saw a BV-138 and a JU-290. Looking good!

Yeah, it was Grumman that threatened legal action against Oleg over the inclusion of Grumman aircraft in Pacific Fighters. The result: no Avenger, and thus no torpedo bombers in the game IIRC.

This apparently affected SH4 as well: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom//sho...d.php?t=111927
