That's gotta be it - lol - (man, this is a rough crowd to please......)
OK, it looks like a nice day for a cruise: ![]() the result: ![]() It's close - 290' - 300' above sea level when it should be 325' +/- If one wants to pick it apart further, the north - south, east - west measurements are off as well, and the precise shape is a little different too. Like I have said, this is meant to be a representation of Sofu Gan, I built it for myself, and thought I would share it if anyone else wanted it. I'm so happy to finally see Lot's Wife in SH4 !! I've been intrigued by Sofu Gan since 2002 when I first saw it in our mission orders and looked it up. Happy Hunting! Art

OK, I think in your first screenshot, the sub is closer to the camera than the rock, so it made the rock look smaller. It looked fine in the WIP thread, so I wondered what had happened to it :-).

Little confusing to those of who do not reguarly fool around with game files, so not easy to tell what to do exactly....I enabled the Sofu Gan mod with JSGME.Opened the campaign.loc in RSRD with notepad as said, found this:
[MapLocation 459] Type=1 Priority=0 Title=Sofu Gan / Lot's Wife Heading=123.000000 OnLand=false ShowOnMap=true FirstRenderStep=false FileName2D=None.dds FileName3D=Small_Pacific_Harbor_IV.dat LocationName=Sofu Gan / Lot's Wife MinObjTerrainHeight=0 MaxObjSlope=0.000000 GameEntryDate=19380101 GameEntryTime=0 GameExitDate=19451231 GameExitTime=0 Font=FPCond18.dds FontColor=255 UseDetColor=false ZoomStart=50 ZoomEnd=1 ScaleOnZoom=true Scale1024=1.000000 Long=16842640.000000 Lat=3576380.000000 So what next? Read it and see if says if sofu gone is already in .loc file just have to " (above this part): [EditorParams] InitLongOff=-11607000.000000 InitLatOff=5980500.000000 ZoomIndex=0 Prefix= Do a search in your Campaign_LOC.mis file for: Sofu. Maybe your mod already has Sofu Gan in this file and you only need to paste in the above block of code into the file to show this model by replacing the block of code if it exists in the middle of he file etc. The above confuses me a bit.HELP! |

OK, if I understand you right, you found Sofu Gan in your Campaign_LOC.mis file. Is this right?
If so, I would try... Make a copy of that Campaign_LOC.mis file your RSRD mod (or whatever it is) that is using that file and already has the name Sofu Gan in it, and put that copy in my JSGME ready Sofu Gan mod where it belongs in the Sofu Gan folder in the MODS folder replacing my Campaign_LOC.mis file. Then make this edit in the copied Campaign_LOC.mis file using a text editor: In your Sofu Gan block, your [MapLocation 459] find the line: FileName3D=Small_Pacific_Harbor_IV.dat and change it to: FileName3D=SofuGan.dat Then enable the SofuGan mod with JSGME. This will be on top of (or after) RSRD. Hope this helps and that I understood your question. Back up your files and don't edit an enabled file in a mod. Uninstall my SofuGan mod while editing it, then enable it after you made the changes above. Happy Hunting! Art

Using the technique above, replace your 459 Sofu Gan block with this 459 block using a text editor - don't include the dashes:
Edit the copy of the Campaign_LOC.mis file 459 Sofu Gan block you put in the Sofu Gan mod. ---------------------------------------------- [MapLocation 459] Type=0 Priority=0 Title=Sofu Gan / Lot's Wife Heading=123.000000 OnLand=false ShowOnMap=true FirstRenderStep=false FileName2D=None.dds FileName3D=SofuGan.dat LocationName=Sofu Gan / Lot's Wife MinObjTerrainHeight=0 MaxObjSlope=1.000000 GameEntryDate=19380101 GameEntryTime=0 GameExitDate=19451231 GameExitTime=0 Font=FPCond18.dds FontColor=255 UseDetColor=true ZoomStart=50 ZoomEnd=1 ScaleOnZoom=true Scale1024=14.377808 Long=16842640.000000 Lat=3576380.000000 Height=0.000000 ---------------------------------------------- Happy Hunting! Edit, I changed the: LocationName=Sofu Gan / Lot's Wife line above to match your RSRD line.

I added a tiny X to the Chart/map because too many folks had a hard time locating Sofu Gan..
------------------------------------- I purposely did not include an "X marks the spot" because the Lot's Wife, Sofu Gan, or Sofu Iwa text is right there if you zoom in a little. Plus you get the excitement of finding it yourself. If you zoom out to the "small squares" of Lat & Long you will see Tokyo. Tokyo is approx 35-30 N, and almost 140E. You can find Tokyo, right? Count down 6 "squares" from Tokyo to the 29N - 30N, 140E - 141E "square" and zoom in a little. There is shallow water that rises up 1,000's of feet from the ocean floor at that location and Sofu Gan is on the highest pixel. I know I made a screenshot of the map so I'm going to go find it and add it to this message. So I don't get nit picked on this, I realize Lat/Long are not squares and the Earth is an oblate spheroid, but for SH4 remedial geography I'm callin' them squares and that's my story and I'm stickin' to it. Close up: ![]() The Dev's really got this close. Regarding detail, USS Tuna did a special mission in the Java Sea area on Sanbergelap Island and if you zoom in real close that tiny island is on the SH4 map too. I truly believe they had intentions of going into much more detail with SH4 including these landmarks - if only they had the budget. Well, good luck finding Lot's Wife - I'm confident now that you will. Happy Hunting! Art

Thank you so much aanker, I found it. I plan to visit on my way home from patrol and if it is not there I will use your mod and go visit out on my next patrol.
