Wait I'm confused. SH5 will also be for consoles? If so, that can't be good news for us...

All i can say right now is... looks awesome.

though i am very disappointed in the Interface... this needs to be more Analog - it needs to have dials and gages on the interface... strictly avoiding digital indications wherever possible.

source?

seems i read otherwise somewhere.

if this is in fact the PC version... we are in for real trouble with this GUI

IMHO this should be the NUMBER ONE priority of modders upon release.

I notice there is room for modding. The periscope interface with a map looks like some old ms-dos game.

at a glance it would at least appear that this "mini map" is optional.

in the very least it appears that the player can "minimize" it

Thats because the video is over 13 minutes long and features demonstrations of in game footage from several ubisoft new releases and upcoming releases.

The problem is that even if we're seeing a console version, it will be the same for PC. One is just ported to the other.
Let's hope SH5 is not the first subsim for console, or we're in for some heavy heavy modding (Oblivion anybody?).

The interior of the ship looks great. The outer world view as we saw it already looked great but needs modding - like the water color etc. The periscope view is a bit disappointing. I miss the Atlantic feeling. Or am I to conservative and will I stick to SH-3 forever?

What are you talking about? I was sailing around the Pacific with Silent Service on the NES.
