Yeah, I forgot to say that it really did look EXACTLY like the object it was on. It was so perfectly camoflaged that it honestly scared the bejazzus out of me when it popped up and swam away.

I believe I have found it Weiss and the one I remember. This bugger is so well melded into the object. Nothing has a chance.

They are very smart indeed I remember watching a documentary where the scientists captured an octopus from the sea and brought it into their boat and put it in an aquarium like container with lid on top so it's sealed.

At night the Octopus opened the lid cover got out from the container and ran out of the boat into the sea .

That one is probably good enough to work in CIA or British intelligence...a 007 Octopus lol

Yeah man. To me, the octopus is the ultimate predature. The camo is uncanny.

There is plenty of talk about evolved this and that but come on, this animal is very very very good at what he does. Hypno attack he looks like a fish.

That's the one! No matter how many times I see it I'm just amazed at how perfectly the little devil perfectly mimics its backround, colors, movement, and all.

Another quite cool creature is the Cuttlefish. It can camouflage like octopie, but it also can arrange it's own disco lights.

Yep exactly, in that vid the octopus isn't even having to try very hard.

Don't forget shape too, it altered its shape to look like a gnarled hunk of coral.

So, can we put this animal on the top 10 list of perfect or near perfect predators?

If so, what would the other 9 perfect or near perfect predators would be on the list?

I think we can definitely put the Octopus on the 10 most interesting predators.

The shark could be on this list as well. Hmmmmm....even a trap door spider? Look at this little ambusher.
