Applying vinegar is not recommended in all cases, since not all jellyfish are the same. The Man-Of-War for example is no box jellyfish, and studies get quoted with having shown that spilling vinegar onto its tentacles on the skin often do not lessen but increase the the symptoms.

I never saw the one that got me but it musta been a little one. ![]() There are other jelly fish out there too. There is the infamous 'butterfish' jelly fish which has not tenticles per se and only sting if broken open. We used to pick em up and throw them at each other... such fun ![]()
