I can also recommend the GreenPepper version of SH3, it is very cheap and has no Starforce either.

If anyone is still interested..... The Direct2Drive version is Starforce free and DOES NOT require activation. I just installed it on my laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium and it seems to run with no problems. I need to find a way to adjust the resolution, but other than that, it's good.

ZAP! I just activated my personal deflector shield, the rocks will just bounce off! Ha Ha

Duh! Low battery warning. Guess I'll just hide and wait for everyone to leave.

Buy a copy at Steam or at the Ubisoft Digital Shop.

It's not the US version, it's the EMEA version. Found out today the hard way. Hopefully I can get my money back.

Guess I'll have to really search for my lost copy or come back here and order the one from Amazom.com.

If you use steam for games , its only 4.99 pounds on there and u dont need a disc or any patches... I dont know what starforce is so i dunno if its on that version or not..

I use xp pro on my desktop and it works fine there

To Delhan:
As long as you own an original copy of the game, you might use a noCD on one of the computers and use the original on the other. I use noCDs with all my legally purchased games since my original GTA San Andreas disk almost broke up inside my DVD drive, and have backup disc images of all my games.
Steam games obviously don't need noCDs.

Or you could run the steam SH3 on your dad's computer and put steam on a permament offline mode there, and buy just one copy for yourself. Since yourd dad isn't really logging in your steam, you can still use it whenever you want.

Starforce is the UGLY/TERRIBLE/DVD DESTROYING copy protection software on the retail/DVD version. D2D versions are SF free and I assume the Steam version is also.
