Default Throw in the Brits

Would be great to have the U-Boats + maybe the Brit boats out of Malta. Able to play both sides.

Since i´ve played both SH3 and 4 for a while, i can say ill stick to the Atlantic. I dont know what it is, but it has something special and also i like more the Kriegsmarine an its U-Boats than the US Navy (guess Das Boot did a number on me ).
I´ve got bored of SH4 after a week but im still playing SH3 so that´s got to mean something.

I like U-Boat centric theme a lot, and would jump at the chance to revisit it, so Atlantic for me.

Is this true? Thumbs up if it is tho.
It was confirmed a good while back that SH5 was to be an Atlantic theatre based U-boat game.

The question is......what sides will be playable and will there be a Pacific theatre addon in the future.

They certainly did a good job at UBI with SH3, and I do not forget that the base of the game is very good. The problem with those guys is :
1 ) They want to make money quickly. ( Not only UBI )
2 ) They don' t want to take the needed time for making a near perfect game ( or as near as... ) and they don't polish their work enough. ( I mean , look at Age of Empire II, the top notch quality that game was at the time. The problems with this game were really scarce and IMHO this was a leader in the genre, and for years ).
Look at Bethesda for example and the incredible success they have with Elder Scrolls IV and Fallout III... ( on X-Box )
3 ) Also they don't want to take advise from anybody and anything you can say they don't care. They prefer to rush like mad and make money instantly with a half finished game , not understanding that making something twice better would double their profit as well as the lifespan of their products.
If those guys would really allows their engeners conceptors etc.. ( that they pay ) to express their full potential and not always restraining their talent and creativity with money deadlines and what not, may be one day they could equal people as those in the GWX team, that do that for free...

Also I think they should make games for the majority rather than inceasing the game Specs all the time. I mean, now everytime a new game is on the market, you either have to buy a new PC, or a new card, or what not else...

I play both SHIII and SHIV, Atlantic and Pacific, but only fight for the German side

I first came across submarine is a story on Reader's Digest, about sinking of Japanese aircraft carrier Shinano by USS Archer-Fish (SS-311). But later, I find that the submarine war was more intensive at the ATO, and the look of u-boat is cooler that those fleet boat. Like Kapt Z said, underdog is more interesting and challenging.

I'll take the U-Boats in the Atlantic. There is an excitement to the hunter becoming the hunted.

i'm quite happy they're back in the atlantic! the battle for the atlantic was truely pivotal and its an intense theatre.
i must admit i don't know much about fleet boat ops in the pacific and i'm at a loss to understand or even tell apart most of the US subs but i reckon an addon akin to or perhaps better then the u-boat add on for shIV would be excellent.

I'm a both kind of guy. I loved Aces Of The Deep in the Atlantic, and I loved Silent Hunter in the Pacific. If forced into a choice I would take Atlantic first, not because I like it better, but because I like to play from the start of the war and run several campaigns side-by-side, and of course that means two years in the u-boats before America even enters the war.

That's why European Air War was my favorite WW2 flight sim, because I could campaign both sides. Anything less is frustrating for me.

That's probably a major consideration for the majority of sub simmers, especially those who prefer the Atlantic battlefield

Since SHIV I've learned alot about US fleet boats but I don't like the beginning of the game. Duds and sucky submarines. The japs don't even know how to fight a submarine! And it gets easier and easier to play because Japanese ASW tactics nearly improve during the war. One reason I like playing SH4 is because of the visual effects, but now I've got GWX 3.0 for SH3. I really love SH4 but it's just wrong that the game starts hard and ends easy... I want the next game to be in the Atlantic.

(Sorry for my bad spelling if there is any. Too tired to think about my grammar at the moment)
