Good point.

I have an explanation on why they use the P90. They managed to upgrade them so they are über accurate and deadlier, but they just didnt tell about it in the show. In the early seasons, they couldnt kill the normal jaffa soldiers with the mp5/p90.

Hell, I think the P90 in SG canon was designed specifically to fight the Jaffa. Makes a certain amount of sense, due to the body armor and the fact that SG teams tended to have a lot of other crap to carry around so a PDW/SMG might make sense for your normal recon team, and you'd want one that'd punch through the protection of your most common enemy.

But c'mon...who wouldn't wanna hose a Goa'uld with a M240? Or pop 'im in the head with a Barrett?

Just watched the episode (S6E2) where they explain how they got the gate in. The ceiling above the gate is actually a big farking door, behind it is an shaft that leads all the way to the surface. So, yeh, why the heck they dont use Abrams'?!

Could an Abrams fit through the gate? I would've thought that an Abrams was too wide for gate, given that all we see going through it are MALPs, SG pesonnel, missiles and energy weapons.

According to Wiki, an Abrams is 12 feet wide and 8 feet tall.

I think it'll fit.

Indie game in Dev, Stargate: The New Enemy

http://sgtne.mach-creation.com/accueil_en.html

No license, so will be a free download. As with all such projects who knows if it will see the light of day. Looks like an FPS.

Too bad SG-1 Alliance got killed off by JoWood, screens for it looked promising.
