Dont get me onto the topic of our bloody polititions. Ive been fighting them since before they came to power as I'm a keen Foxhunter. I defy them every Hunting season. Messrs Brown/Blair & Mr Hitler both banned Foxhunting.
The country will be in a financial mess for years possibly deccades, yet they all get there pensions and bonusses and freebees.

I could not have sypmpathised with the Kriegsmarine in real life during WWII, although you have to respect their bravery. I'm British and proud of it. That was then, its better to be at peace now. Its better to fight the pollititions than Germany.

Its a good game and I would rather play the Battle of the Atlantic than be an American in the Pacific. Mind it does feel strange torpedoing ships flying the White Ensign. I wish British subs were included although there were no Axis merchant ships to shoot at.

On a side note - I had an election leaflet from the BNP today, arguing against immigration. Their leaflet featured a picture of a spitfire.
It made me smile ironically because the spitfire in the picture was from a Polish squadron in the RAF. I find that ironic on a BNP leaflet.

John,

The same leaflet came through our door the other day too.
You know what really pi###s me off,the fact Labour doesnt give a s##t about our country and yet they persist in sending leaflets through our doors, like this will melt our hearts and we will forgive them!they have had 15+ bloody years to get their act sorted out!,yet they still thieve from us!
Anyway,f##k them corrupt weaklings, you know who is getting my vote this time?

SUBSIM! for holding together a great forum, and allowing us to rant about a great game!

PS: Sorry about the language and going off topic, but I DO feel much better now.It won't happen again.

I'm not quite sure how serious you are here, but let me remind you that WW2 broke out on September the 1st (not 3rd), when Germany invaded Poland. On September the 17th Soviet Union invaded Poland. You may be suprised to learn that more than 6.000.000 of Poles were killed, it's quite a ratio - 1 million per year.

IMO members of countries like USA, France or GB could never understand what was going on in Poland during WW2. Let me say - this wasn't some 'Allo allo' with Rene Artois and 'Fallen Madonna'. People were treated worse than animals, and they were slaughtered day after day. You cannot imagine horrible thing that my nation had to endure.

If you say GB should fight along with Germany in WW2, well... I cannot answer you, please come to PL so I can show you tombstones of people who thought differently.

Kubryk,

Of course I can sympathize with you,i'm no animal you know.
Interesting you mentioned another nation that was committing atrocities against the Poles, the Soviets.

Did you know that some Poles and Eastern European nations (I THINK Latvia was one of them) actually welcomed the occupation by the Wehrmacht?,in defiance of the Soviet advances.
I believe the Soviets committed just as many atrocities on people as the SS did,1000s of cases of rape on German/and also other Slavic women, and of course acts of brutality on their own people during the forced building (effectively slave labour) of defences around Stalingrad and Moscow.

Propaganda is a foul weapon, and should be heeded with caution.
I just believe Britain and Germany were dragged into a conflict dictated by politics and other factors, akin to the mess in Iraq today with Britain and America. And for anyone thinking they fought for a free world back then I vehemently disagree, because this world has never been more oppressive and brutal.WWII seems like a walk in the park compared with some of the things happening today, mass child abuse, child abuse by the church, thieving politicians, brutal attacks on the elderly, animal abuse, global debt, drug smuggling, relaxed immigration laws bringing in countless criminals and terrorists...the list is vast.
It pains me to think of the men that died (on all fronts) in that epic conflict for...this.

Lets get off this now,it could get too political and likely to offend some, and I dont want that,in here anyway

You're right, subsim forum should be focused on simulation games, it's not a place for political or complex historical discussions.
Let me use a famous qoute here: 'I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.' Cheers.

Sorry kubryk, for speaking about sensitive subjects.I forgot the Poles suffered a lot during the war,I think a lot do if they were honest with themselves, they forget the 'little people' (not that you are little in stature) if you see what I mean here

And a great quote you have, the essence of democracy at its best, which is more than can be said for those that invented the bizarre notion of 'democracy' in the first place.

End of THIS discussion now.

I salute you
