Just balance your fleet and you'll be fine.
![]() Always loved going straight up from the Pride with a strikeforce, flying over to the enemy and swarming down on his ships. Fantastic games. ![]()

Ok - I have picked up ToV - and I have to say - I was wrong on some things.
First off, I still miss base building - but the missions you play in ToV are reasonably designed in a way where a base is not called for. So the mission design makes this decision wise. I have to applaud Relic for designing the missions in such a smart way. Second thing - the "direct fire" mode. Ok - this isn't "jump into your tank and aim the gun". It actually helps you act as the tank commander, designating a target for your main gun. You click an icon, then the turrent will "follow" your mouse cursor - though obviously it moves alot slower. This is a boon to some of us who always wondered why our main gun ignored threats when we told the tank to attack. Like infantry. In CoH and OF your main gun would often reprioritize to a bulding or light vehicle while you were chewed up by anti-tank infantry. Between this "direct fire" mode and HE shells, your Elite Tiger is much more useful. Note that it looks like this option is only available on limited vehicles. Again - I have to say, I was wrong on this. Where DoW2 really - for me at least - lost ALOT of its feel, COH using the same idea in the ToV expansion really got it right. Perhaps that's because ToV limited its scope, where DoW2 forces a systemwide tale of destruction and drags you along for the ride regardless. Either way, I ranted unfairly, and have to say that if Relic keeps the base ability with the addition of some TOV elements - they have gotten a good balance. Note TOV does not remove your ability to skirmish with bases using either of the 4 sides. Well done after all Relic. Now - fix DoW!!!! ![]()
