Well done
So Demon would you like to deal with support of Hamas or Hezb'Allah ?
What about the martyrs brigade or the peoples mujahadeen ?
How about the soldiers of the pure or the gatherers of the pure?
(OK that last one is an invention about the gatherers of excrement for the leather industry in Discworld...but hey with all the other fruitbats they have supported I am sure the fictional excrement collecters could get a look in from the "geosrategically" understanding) .
Or alternatively if you didn't want to just rip the piss of out ignorance.......what have been the recent deals since 9/11 between Syria and the Bush administration?
Then again that might be viewed as ripping the piss out of the ignorant .
But to avoid controvrersy as I don't really want to offend those who don't think much ....what was Syrias role with America in the war on terror?

Very cautious in approach. There has been some food aid offered, and very cautious outreach offered. But no serious military offerings were given AFAIK. Syria has been cautious in reverse and has made several low profile gestures of so-called diplomatic "goodwill" as they did not want to become a target in the crosshairs of the War on Terror initiated by Bush. As they have been known to be open supporters of terrorist organizations in money and weapons. Of course changing the tone ala Obama to open appeasement may have a very adverse effect. That is what this does. And that's why it's so dangerous. Especially since the Obama administration has been very lukewarm and ambiguous in regards to Isreali security as well.

Why can't liberals ever discuss an issue at face value?

What Bush did (even though regarding Syria it wasn't much) is irrelevant.

Bloody hell , where have you been ?
Ever since they backed the second gulf war they have been on the buddies list and whe then time came for dodgy shipments and torture they became happy ally #1 .

Yet now you are getting upset over spare parts for a 747 ? parts they could buy on the second hand market just like the Iranians do when they are not exchanging anti aircraft missiles for political favours.

Weak argument. Back then, were we offering them dual use technologies that could be used to supply terrorists materials or aid? I think not. Sorry friend, you just can't quibble out of this.

Vigilance is needed the next four years. The Obama administration has approved aviation systems for Syria. This is an unneeded transfer. Here again comes an administration who is ready to give away technology, dual use systems, and materials to questionable regimes, and potential military foes. More Democrat treachery.
Well, I can't get very worked up by them exporting components for TWO ageing civilian aircraft. I never really bought into that whole "dual-use" argument. Almost ANYTHING can be used militarily. Including food and medicine.
