As an aside, I was able to copy the sound files into my base install no problem...

Now to get to work on the REALLY cool stuff!

I run Vista and wondered why it didn't work, then realized it had to be installed in the root folder of SH4, ran the JSGME exe from there and in a blink it created a Mods folder. After that just copy all the mods to the mods folder and run JSGME.exe to activate them, works like a charm

Yeah, that didn't work for me. It created the folder in Vista's "mirror" directory. Boo.

Well, I'll try it again unless I'm remembering it wrong. Thanks for the help, all the same!

Never heard of a mirror directory. I think a lot of folks have problems because of the "User Account Control". I have this de-activated and there is only one account on my computer... me, as administrator. This computer doesn't ask me for permission to do anything and allows me to install anything I want. It's just like running XP or Win 98.

Good call-that UAC switch fixed most of my Vista and game software conflict problems. "Run as Admin" is also useful.
