Here's a question: I just installed the newes SH3Weather, and looking inside the folder I found a notepad document with a bunch of numbers in it. The next-to-last number in every line is "11", written with quotes just like that. Are those numbers related to what you just described? Can you tell if changing those numbers will change the defaults?

Am I asking for trouble?

Weather!

Why are some people complaining about the weather in GWX2.1,and why use the weather gen or whatever?
Some years ago I read about the weather in WW2 , and they had the worst weather from 1940-44. In that century (years from 1900-1999).
I know it's hard to be a subcommander in SH3 and GWX but that's life
My grandfather (may he rest in peace) was in the "Norwegian Resistance",and he told me the weather that time was BAD.he'd never experience it in earlier times and later times.
In the North sea and atlantic oh the weather is ugly
In earlier days I was a fisherman I spend most of my days at the sea.
I don't think the weather in SH3 & GWX is so bad? Where I come from ,and live, it's the town Stavanger at the westcoast of Norway. There we have wind and rain most of the time ! It can rain in one hole month So we are good swimmers here:rotfl: :rotfl:

We've been having this discussion for more than three years now, ever since the game was released. Sometimes the weather gets stuck being very bad for weeks on end, which I know can happen, but other times it gets stuck in perfect weather for the same time. The 'WeatherFix' included in GWX 2.1 attempts to make it so sometimes the weather changes more often, which it also does.

As I said, I use SH3 Weather specifically because it makes it so sometimes there is bad weather at the start of a patrol; something the game never does.

Ppl forget waether cycle due to saves
From old times it seem after a reload save weather stay same for 7 days
So if save in storm will be storm for week when reload
If save again before week gone then another week of storm when play again

So never see good weather

Today I see clear weather then foggy then clear a couple days after then go back rain and mist
Nice mix
Use GWX 2.1

I remember that file. I think it is a log file of the changes SH3 Weather makes before the start of a patrol. I think if you do a search for the original (or is it the revised version :hmm SH3 Weather thread, you will find a discussion/debate about whether the program is working as it is supposed to or always setting WRI to 11. I suppose it is not really a "biggie" if WRI reads 5 or 11, it's just that Stiebler and I tested the RWF using Rand values set to 0 and WRI set to 5. It won't break anything if you use the SH3 Weather values, but I'm not sure what weather you will get!

Yes, saving resets the weather counter back to zero. If you must save, only do it immediately after you observe a change in the weather and no ships are around and only on the surface and not in sight of land and...sigh.
