Thanks for the translation, both Dowly and W4lt3r. Nice to see Dave get credit.

Also, Ducimus should feel proud (or at least vindicated): TM is the first mod link listed. Well, JSGME is first, but it's not really an SH4 mod.

All-in-all, it's good to be noticed.

The author must have been drinking those 7 bottles of whiskey he mentioned in the article to have included anything I've put together. I'm just as "gitty as a school girl" to have been included!!!! Thanks W4lt3r for the translation, I'm going to use this to show my wife what a Finnish rock star I've become!!!! :rotfl:

My point wasn't that you're famous or anything, though that is always a plus. I was just thinking about the times people have talked about someone "finally doing something for SH4", without mentioning the mods already there. Now, someone has mentioned them.

Come on Duci, last time you were in print it involved the police and the front page of the local newspaper. :rotfl:

Nice job on TM!

Good point.

As for "meh", im a firm beleive in modesty. Blow sunshine my way, and ill disappear, rather then try and bask in it because i dont want to be misconstrued as having a big head.

True story:
On my last tour of duty in korea, i was put in for a medal for meritorious service.
On my next duty assigment, i caught wind of when it arrived at the base personnel office. I went to the awards and dec's section and intercepted it, before it ever reached my unit. Nobody in my new unit knew about it except me, and anyone who happend to view my service record. (Not to mention I didnt want to have to stand at attention in front of a full auditorium in the usual ceremony when medals are awarded. )

Now if i do that in real life, what do ya think ill do over a mod? Although im sure ive tooted my own horn at least once or twice.

"Silent Hunter 4 modder holds news conference in front of his house to discuss recent article in a Finnish magazine about the mod being referred to as 'T.M.' Details at 11."

That's because the journalist probably had a hard time teaching shSpeech to understand his "Mika Häkkinen"-english. It's a known fact that us Finns pronounce a bit like Arnold, but worse.

Actually shSpeech interprets my mumbo-jumbo correctly about 95% of the time, which means you've done(and Microsoft with their speech engine) an excellent job

Thanks for the kind words, but no, it's not enough! I demand recognition! That's it! I'm replacing the shSpeech webpage with midget porn and replacing the download with a VIRUS! hahaha

Can do hold on a few minutes then.

"Mods are installed with JSGME

Without Generic Mod Enabler software, modding games would be like putting toothpaste back into it's tube, just more frustrating. Install the game from DVD and update it to the latest version (1.4) ((guess they dont include the Uboat pack)). Copy JSGME.exe to you'r Silent hunter 4 root folder. Just incase, take a picture from you'r unmodded installation (Tasks > Generate Snapshot). JSGME does an ..\Silent Hunter 4\Mods-named folder. Extract all you'r unextracted mods you have downloaded into it. MODS's subfolders can be renamed by yourself, all the changes that is done depends on the files inside the mod folder. All Silent Hunter Mods have been packed with Winzip so that they have proper foundation for the folder routes. Do not change it.

Folder names are shown in JSGME at the left tab as "uninstalled" list. While the right list shows the installed mods. choose and click >-arrow. JSGME does backup from the original files and replaces them with new ones. If one of the earlier mods have modified similar files, JSGME asks what you want to do. Right answer is: "Yes, overwrite them".
Removal of mods is done the same way with the <-arrow, JSGME is able also to skin overwritten mods one by one. << arrow removes all mods in one click.

If Modder hasn't included into his zip-pack an subfolder route, you can add them yourself. First find the original unmodded file's place and create yourself similar subfolder route under the MODS-archive. This will create the mod to be compabitible with JSGME."

So basically it's a instructional manual how to use the great software ^^
