Could it be you have one 512MB stick and one 250MB stick of non identical RAM ? :hmm: |

It seems that your PC is out of memory. One way to counter this is by increasing your Page File/Swap file (aka virtual RAM).
Goto.... Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance - Settings > Advanced - Virtual Memory - Change & change the value to 3056 for both boxes then click SET. You will need to reboot. If you have a second HDD put the Page File on that instead of the HDD that is housing SH3. While you are in the System Properties, enable windows error reporting (which is what BBW is asking for). Goto.... System > Advanced > Error Reporting. Make sure it's enabled.

Er......I have no idea really, there is indeed 1 x 256 and 1 x 512 installed. However, I'm not sure if they are matched or not (I haven't heard of of that before!)
How can I check if they are matched? (A code on the sticks themself?) |

Allright then, I did what Danlisa suggested (and woa, I never even would've thought of this, I still don't know what it does though!)
I've just re-installed SHIII plus GWX 2.0, I'll edit this message to see what happens. |

Frank, you should look at getting another 512 stick to go with the other one.
Any time you mis-match, you limit your memory. As far as I have been told, RAM is only as fast as the weakest link. Pop in another 512, (or two, or three, depending on how many DIMMs you've got left!). But be sure to get the right kind. If it's SDRAM, you're going to need another SDRAM stick in 512, and it will be considerably more expensive than newer DDR RAM. I paid 104.00 CDN at Futureshop for a 512 SDRAM stick.... as a last resort. Checking the local computer shops proved fruitless (several guys actually laughed and just said "good luck"). But Staples / Futureshop should have it. |

It actually works!
Thank you everyone, you are true heroes! I must apologize for all the inconvenience and efforts I caused you all, but I greatly appreciate it. I am glad to be sailing on your side! Hope to see you out there in the waves, Frank |

![]() Be sure to realise though that you do need more system RAM, the workaround I have shown you is not a permanent fix. You will have a better gaming experience with more RAM. Your HDD (Swap File) is not as fast as sticks of RAM. Anyway, sink em all. ![]()

I will do that as soon as possible, it shouldn't be too expensive I reckon, and certainly it'll save abit of frame-rate (read: headache), haha.
Again, thank you for all the good advice. |
