Default What does 1.5 mean to us playing SH3/GWX2?

Well, the title says it all.

It seems that the SH4 community will all be migrated to 1.5 in a few weeks even if they are only playing the Pacific War. Once the two main mods (TM & RFB) go, there will be no choice for anyone, but to buy it.

So, what does 1.5 mean for those of us here?

Thanks.

Well......if a mod arrives that makes use of the U-Boats in the SH4 add-on in order to create an Atlantic campaign then i'd be very tempted to buy the add on. Until that time, i'll be sticking with SH3 as I have little interest in the Pacific War myself, UBoats or no UBoats.

That said, I'm glad those who are interested in the Pacific War have a quality sub sim to play.

Means nothing to most of us there is a 1.5 patch for SHIV
Sure it adds uboats to a style but in the IO
When and if there is a full atlantic campaign then you may see a large exodus
Not everyones PC can run SH4 and the limited appeal of the IO is easily played out
Especially as its more a " what if " campaign ATM

There's several places that you can buy it as a download on the web. Ubisoft may take it off theirs to try and push SH IV, though don't see the other sites doing the same. Unless Ubisoft does the unthinkable and merges the two games (in their completeness) into one all encompassing subsim the final product isn't likely to be very realistic or have the same depth.

I agree that as far as the submarine warfare in the Pacific I've got minimal interest, if the two could be merged it would open up some opportunities for some fun stuff. (Such as) Your IXD2 (no others have enough range) is loaded with jet engines to be delivered to Japan in Tokyo Bay (a real life secret mission). Trying to get into Pearl Harbor would be a fun challenge plus participating in some of the major naval battles.

It means nothing untill some team made a atlantic theather in SH4.
untill that day SH3 will remain for the atlantic wolves to enjoy.

Played it, Tested it, Dissected it, Broke It, Shelved it (until full KM campaign is added).

Back to GWX for me.
