I don't think Queen Liz is going to hand over the crown to Chalie Big ears untill she's on her deathbed, even then they will have to pry the crown out of her hands!

Sadly, Raul Castro (Fidel´s brother) is in the succession list...
Don't think he'll be in the job for long, he's only a couple of years younger than Fidel.

She's trying to beat Queen Victoria's record.

Actually, she's not been a bad monarch IMO.

Took over at a very early age and can only be accused of one error of judgement......getting involved with a penniless Greek. :hmm:

And Her Majesty is still advancing, to make it better

However, the list might be a little inaccurate as there is one doubtful claim from the Antiquity: pharaoh of VIth Dynasty, Neferkare Pepi II is supposed to have ruled since the age of 6 until his death at the age of 100.
Some people don`t believe he could make it for so long but honestly, that was possible - there were some longevity records even in that times. Of course, due to regency and mental deterioration that apparently occurred, he was de facto leader for much shorter time. Still, with 94 years he would make top1 with lot of advantage to the second in rank Louis
besides, no sign of Emperor Showa, or Hirohito who ruled from 1926 to 1989 - long enough to be included.

Ontopic:

I wish there was democracy and free market on Cuba as I cannot see anything really good in socialist doctature. However, a forced democracy is not a good solution as well. I think that the best situation would be dissolution of the regime once Castro is over so that within years the situation would have changed much to good.

The guy dodged a lot of CIA bullets, I think democracy should stay out of it, why try to change a people when most are happy. George bush wants to bring democracy to Cuba? Unless Cuba is threatening to attack the US then leave it alone.

Question if they`re really happy though and if it`s not due to strict isolation. I remember that as long as there was the Warsaw pact, Soviet Union and all this crap everyone here were OFICIALLY happy, if you could ask them. Just because of secret police and all the problems, there were very few people who would complain openly. The situation changed, but still even when people were not that afraid they started to realize how incredibly retarded was the country they were living in. I guess with Cuba it`s not much different: ofically, most of them are happy and due to isolation, many of them even don`t know they country is so damn poor.

But again - leave it to themselves. It`s their choice if they want to live in democracy or not, we can think of support to some ideas but forced opening of Cuba or forced introduction of democracy is just the worst solution.
