With self preservation and realism (in the form of GWX mod) in mind

Type VIIC, and it's late war variants with stronger pressure hulls

i just love the VIIb. i mean its fun to get all the upgrades with the VIIc, but a VIIb with an engine upgrade will do me just fine.

also love the IXC's for their long range capabilities.

and who couldent love the type II, small, has a nice feel to it. and trying to survive the war in a type II is a challenge.

VIIc. Why? Because it's the real grey wolf.

Ever since reading "Das Boot" I've been fascinated with this boat.

VIIc
- actual number U-96

the IX are fine no doubt but for my personal tast too big... too slow under water either with diving and turning and moving...

Still in 41 but I am sure to get the VIIc/41 once I can...

My signature sums it up for me.
