Default I guess the US is going to war with the Indians once more.

Let the bloodshed start! Doubt there will be a Custers last stand on this one.

The Cannook indians tried this not to long ago, and the Canook military sent tanks to deal with it. Same thing will probably happen with the US too. Not kidding though - someone will probably die over this, if not many.

Irony:

The United States, a nation built upon the idea of freedom and liberty, born from the need to split apart from a power hungary empire, will now try and stop an Indian nation that seeks freedom and independance from forming.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Good luck to them but it's not going to work.

*shrug* kinda hard to take it seriously. Just alot of poltical mumbo jumbo seems like to me. And if they bascially withdraw themselves from the united states of america, so what? They were here before us, if they want to puff up their chest to preserve their culture, ... meh... Besides, most tribes stick it to the white man every day... in the form of casino's.

Its funny to listen to Europeans on the issuse, but I have to say, you hit the nail on the head.

Canadian's eventually had to take it seriously due to violence. In the end, only the indians lost anything.

....why not just let them declare independence like America did from the UK?

No violence then!

Well, everyone keeps accusing George Bush of being a cowboy, and since John Wayne aint around any more, maybe his time has come. Time to 'circle the limos' Dubya...

Mind you, I suspect that the Native Americans might have a bit of a tougher time versus the US Cavalry on this occasion, since they've now got Apaches, Iroqouis, Blackhawks and Sioux, etc on their side too :rotfl:

Hell, being an native american has a boatload of perks. Free college paid for by the goverment last i heard, their rolling in dough on their tribal lands due to casino's they can leagally run as US goverment regulations like "no casino'" don't apply to them. The proceeds (IE millons) are distrubuted throughout the tribe in some places. I don't think they can be drafted, :hmm: not sure on that but thats what ive heard from someplace.

Yet, you have some tribes with suicide and alcholism rates 3x that of the 'white man'? Are they not aware of these perks?

Similar thing over here but without the casinos. Aboriginals receive free education and financial aid without a question.

I certainly would not agree with an Aboriginal nation springing up over here, I know it sounds harsh but there are reasons. I feel the same would apply for this Indian nation in the USA.

1. Crime, the level of crime in Aboriginal communities is ridiculous and no body wants to touch it because they might be seen as racist or something. Alcohol is a very large problem in West and Northern Australia.

2. I'm sorry your land was taken but that wasn't me. This is now Australia, if England hadn't colonised it someone else would have. That's how the world works and it was a lot worse back then. This is Australia, it is our home, our native land, not just yours.

3. It'll only end up in a mess that the government will have to clean up which means tax payers money being wasted.

I'm sure there are other reasons but it's my last day before holidays and i've got work to do!

All the indians around here drive Cadillacs, Acura's, BMW's, and Mercedes.

They have all classes too. What I find weird though is that their own tribes seem to keep a large population of themselves poor. There is no reason for it. Maybe they like a simple way of life or something. Nothing is holding them back from using thier govermental advantages from making a few bucks.
