Default anyone else get destroyed by airplanes in one bombing run?

i'm not complaining, it's my own fault for not crash diving in time or i am next to a task force in the area. normally i get a few depth charges and i sink or die straight away or try to dive and end up flooding. any else get destroyed by planes in one hit?

Yep happened to me twice, I now do not wait to find out whats incoming on radar and much prefer the quiet life under the sea during the day .

+1 - I too just tend to dive when an air contact is picked up, and live to fight on. It just takes one well placed, or lucky hit, bomb to really ruin a submariners day

I just see it as my job to put torpedoes into ships - which in itself entails enough risk of my crew and boat - I don't need to risk a whole submarine and crew over an aircraft or two (I'd much rather find a full carrier's worth of planes, and put that on the bottom! - that's worth taking some risk over).

me too.

Got caught in shallow water after chasing a merchant in to finish her off (I'd installed the mods in the wrong order and it took 5 torpedo hits and over 50 shells to sink a stinkin small composite freighter, chased her into the shallows out of frustration ). Only 40ft under the keel. Dodged the first aircraft's attack with no damage but went down cuz the second one dropped one bomb almost right on the deck.

Fighting aircraft is what carriers were made for . See, birdfarms do have their uses.
