Default Anti-porn software

Can someone offer me a little advise. My $%!*^@ cousin(roomie) can't get it through his pinhead to stay off the porn sites when I'm not around, so I want to block it out. I went through the Internet options in controls and did it that way but it doesn't block ****. I don't need that clown getting a virus or spyware on my PC(I do have antivirus and Spysweeper installed, but don't want to chance it). Any advise is helpful. Thanks

Get some form of nanny-ware . . . those will limit their websurfing options when its activated.

If you want less chance of it happening, move the computer into an open part of the home (lounge room, living room, etc.), so others can see what he's up to, and he will also have less chances of looking up anything unseemly!

This has probably been mentioned, but if you're on 2000 or XP, set up a password for the account. If you sign on with your ISP and you've saved the password, delete that password and enter it manually. That way, he won't be able to sign on the intertubes surfing porn and stuff. Either password will block unauthorized use of the equipment.

Get military with your stuff, sir. They taught that security stuff at bootcamp, and by $DIETY, you'll have to implement it here, too.

Secure that equipment.

Just before you leave the house, turn off the computer and open it up, now disconnect the power button wire(s) from the motherboard (It says "PWR SW" or someting like that and runs from the front of the computer to the edge of the motherboard). It takes about 2 seconds to remove and is totally effective at preventing a computer-illiterate from using the system. It's safe, too. Just remember to plug it back in when you're done.
