Help needed weather or no.
I am needing help from the Community in resolving a program / Mod display discrepancy. Recently unpacking a Mod called "New GWX Sea v1.2" from one of the disks sent by those who are my beneficence, I was eagerly awaiting more impressive embellishment to the world of the u-boat commander. I am using a patched SH3 with an up-to-date GWX overlay. With the Generic Mod Enabler I am loading the following: GWX – Captain America’s Officer Icons GWX – Integrated Orders GWX – No Medals on Crew GWX – Reduced Positive Buoyancy GWX – Stay Alert _crew fix_v1c GWX – Main movie – ‘Das Boot’ DD_VisibleMines_V1.0 TypeVII_Open_Hatch Peri_Correct TypeVII_Open_Hatch_HiRes So at the bottom of the list, and with no file conflicts, goes New GWX Sea v1.2. I start the simulation with SH3Commander Release 2.7 which was suitably "rolled back" before any changes by me, bringing in all the files without reservation, and lastly SH3Weather intervenes with its meteorological options. Expressly purchased for SH3, I run with a 3.06GHz Pentium 4, 1.00 GB RAM, video card is NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT (driver version 6.14.10.9371), and Windows XP Professional. I am currently working a mid 1941 career in a VIIB, conveniently prior to starting my second patrol from St. Nazaire. After upgrading the hydrophones and batteries from the Office, I set out to keep an appointment with AK. Shifting the View Topside, the water looks inviting, but with calm, clear skies there is nothing distinguishing about it. So I Fatal the program with the intent of upping the ante. SH3Weather’s meteorological options come in handy here. By declaring weather conditions before the simulation starts I put the New GWX Sea v1.2 through its paces. By choosing a little wind, one can hear and almost feel a warm mistral as the boat leaves the bunker. The water begins to display character. By choosing overcast conditions, looking out from the bridge reveals a green hue of an approaching storm front. The water is sullen and foreboding. As the lightning has begun striking frequently, I accept the conditions and will let the simulation play out the change without my further intervention. Moving below deck, the shifting and swaying sight of the crew draws my sympathy as we are all cantillated by the engines’ roar, cranked up at the file source by me to approach that cyclonic realism. Even in the din, the thunder can be heard through the hull, a sound that unfailingly heralds rain. So up I go to witness the final expression of the New Sea, only to receive a shock worse than being struck by lightning. The rain is tainted yellow! It’s golden! The NVIDIA Software has an option to adjust the video parameters to suit specific programs, SH3 being one of them. I select this and I know that everything display-wise is as it should be. In fact the simulation runs without a hitch. But instead of experiencing the fury of a tempest, I’m left with the impression of some humongous Valkyrie astraddle the boat and emptying her bladder! but not some unshaved, dumpy bimbo with pitted skin; a well-toned, smooth, firmly plump nubile, a sultry timbre to her soft moans that keep time with the beginning gyrations of her pelvis, the perspiration of her ecstasy forming on her round body, the moment of her rapture signaled by her vacant stare, her glazed eyes half closed, the tip of her moist tongue barely visible between her parted lips uh Anyway, I remember in BASIC that altering numeric values in the appropriate part of a given code changes displayed colors. Is this something that can be manipulated in this New Sea, or might already be done and available for download, or does this join a long list of unused and unusable Mods ? Thank you for all the support I continue to receive from Our Subsim Community. Reverie ![]() |

While I have nothing to offer toward correction of your golden showers dilemma, I really like your writing style

And so another Mod is relegated to the refuse pile.
I have non too few questions that go unanswered; intimidating I suppose. If I want manageable submarine adventure, I'll always have XCOM. ![]() Reverie ![]() |

Intimidation? No.
To all, concerning user support, GWX and additional mods etc... 1) Often questions concerning, "Is this mod or that mod compatible with "X" or "y"? ...are impossible to answer without studying the inner workings of the additional mods in question... and having access to the builder. There are thousands of mods available for SH3... and subsequent release progressions of many. Speaking for myself, I will not spend hours/days/a lifetime deconstructing other mods to determine compatability, when usually incompatabilities exist. This is why we say, "Use additional mods on top of GWX at your own risk." if we didn't say this, we could very easily spend ALL our time awake... figuring out what this and that does. 2) One question at a time. If you line up 14 questions, you'll get fewer responses due to the amount of time required to answer the whole shabang. Easy does it. 3) If I have to read a whole damn page of stuff just to get at a question... No offense Reverie... but your super-long posts just make my eyes hurt. I don't want to read eons of Hannibal Lector prose to extract the point or question... so I tend to avoid them... and the fava beans. 4) USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION!!! Regarding older mods, someone somewhere has probably already answered the same question. Give our guys a break and USE IT... or READ THE FRACKING MANUAL if it concerns GWX itself! (You can also use the "FIND" function on PDF docs... or just scroll through the table of contents and click on the page number!) 5) Regarding the giant Valkyrie pissing on the boat... Queue the Twilight Zone theme music please. ![]() |
