That's because the game is wrong. The supercharger upgrade is wrong, because starting with the VIIb they ALL had superchargers, all the time; and the fastest speed in the game without superchargers is actually the fastest speed they got in real life WITH superchargers. So, to repeat, the supercharger upgrade is bogus, unrealistic, wrong.

well then let's get this corrected in GWX 1.04! I'm all for 100% realism so if my boat is not supposed to be going as fast as it is then let's make it right.

I suppose that GWX devteam will have it into account for 1.04. Let´s see the optimistic side: you will not need to spend a lot of renown points to adquire the superchargers
