Default Do ships roll over?

Hello,
Do ships roll over sometimes when torpedoed? I think, for the most part, I've only seen ships settle down and go under and not roll over.

Thanks for the quick reply!
I'll have to keep my eyes peeled and look at the external camera more often.

In a similar vein, has anyone seen the larger ships - C3s, for instance - sink any other way than by breaking in half? Or any ship breaking into more than two large pieces? Just curious... I've seen 'em roll - fun when it's an attacking DD who rolls over and dives like an airplane at speed - but I've never seen large ships stay intact as they disappear into the murk.

I remember some guy did mod in SH-2 the point of gravity so more roll-overs could be achieved. I do not know if this is possible in SH III because I think it should happen more frequently.

Larger ships were more likely to break in half in real life, primarily because of the weight of the cargo they carried. As for capsizing (rolling over), ships with longitudinal bulkheads (ones fat enough to have a wall running down the centerline) were the ones mostl likely to capsize because only one side of the ship would flood. Very small merchants and destroyers should almost never capsize or break in half. Very large merchants should break up, and very large warships should capsize. Anything else could happen, but wasn't extrememly likely.

i have seen a medium merchant (a C-2 or 3) going in one piece smootly to the bottom... he disapeared just like he was sailing... not the bow or stern first... didnt roll over either.

recorded it somwhere :hmm: ...
