Default That's a new one...

Was the guy arrested, tried for treason as a Chechen terrorist, and then shot? People have been declared enemies of the state and executed in Russia for less...

In fairness, today's Russia does not have the death penalty.

That said, the infamous Chechen warlord Salman Raduyev happened to "die of a heart attack" within a couple of weeks of beginning his life sentence in a siberian penal colony a few years ago. I'm pretty sure I know what happened in reality, though, and it's best left unmentioned

Compared to a Russian penal colony, a quick death is a kind of mercy...
