>>What does RESTARTING your computer over and over have to do with anything?

RAM flush.

>>If you have four holes in your boat, you should not be diving in the first place!!!

Agreed. Sh3 spoiled us in this regard. THe reality is a single hole = no diving.

I don't know if anyone else had this problem, when I installed the v1.2 patch I currently had only one file that wasn't an original v1.0 or v1.1 ... and that was when I was working on the radar, the Sensors_sub_US.sim file. It was dated something like April 10th. Well, after I installed the v1.2 patch, it never replaced that SIM file. I never had the original, which was dated back in febuary so I uninstalled the whole game (to makes sure I had all originals), then reinstalled v1.0 and updated with v1.2. Then it worked.

Appears if the file was dated after v1.0 or v1.1 it never updated it. I don't know if JSGE changes the dates on the original files, I dunno. Might be the same problem with other files.

Nah, RAM flush wouldn't make a difference. Unless they use some kind of shared memory between the game and the patcher which remains active after the game has been closed.. That would be a memory leak in itself.

It is possible that some kind of service does not come into effect until Windows is restarted after the game is installed, but I seriously doubt that as well. If an installer asks for a restart, you can generally just ignore it unless you're dealing with a Virus scanner or any other deeply embedded programs.

If the original poster is right, the devs need to overhaul their patching system, because I have no other game ever require this many restarts between patching without explicitly asking for it.

Have you tried manning the deck gun/AA gun? You need to man the gun in order to fix the last bits of damage (i.e. when the damage is 0.05 or there about). The damage control crew will not fix this damage.

Well after many attempts at trying to repair the final bit of my deck gun.. Manning the gun (for quite awhile - hours in fact) worked!?!

How did you know you need to do this?

Damn another update to my buglist

I discovered it when I noticed that some lightly damaged components in compartments get repaired by the crew. It only stood to reason that a lightly damaged deck gun/AA gun might also be repaired by the crew. I'm not exactly sure why the DC team won't complete the repair...perhaps they have more important things to do, like polishing brass or flemishing mooring lines.
