No need to overreact, my post was not making fun of you for example! A couple of comments were made because U-571 is considered to be a trash film by this community, and not a good source for historical accuracy. Anyway, no it was not possible to get range and bearing (well bearing maybe) for a torpedo in WWII like can be done today. What fire gauge are you talking about btw?

My apologys it was a bad day for me. Its just hard to find out what real and not real. Of sub ops. My Grand dad was a Navy man in WW2, And pass a way many years ago. He wood not talk about anything about the navy or what hes job was .
all I know it was with Japan, And as for the fire gage. That simulat on board fires. I seen it on sh2 of a friend some time ago .It seems to me it wood kill every one under water fast, After seeing a real sub. U-505 in side. And on the new parascope
why did thay leave out the compus marks? Dont get me wrong I like the new scope.
