I think ships destroyed and then progressive improvements will be one of the easiest things to mod.

You're right! I can see the aliasing caused by the post processing. :rotfl:

But on another note.... ZOMG! I can't even get SH3 to run at 1280 with decent fps... I'm boned til I get a new box.

But relating to Pearl Harbour. I'm sure there will be a mod to create some kidn of altering appearance. Just off the top of my head if there ever were a program made called... say SH4Cmdr (hehehehe) then it could be made so that the appearance of Pearl Harbour is altered based on what date you ship out on.

From another thread I made:

Even by 1942, there was quite a lot of salvage operations going on in Pearl. While I understand that the game developers cannot afford to waste a lot of time on "one shot" effects like the salvage of the OKLAHOMA via cranes:

It would have been rather simple to take one of the early US Battleship models they made for the game; delete all the superstructure, flip it upside down, and then use it as a static 3d model which appears in pearl from 09 DEC 41 to MAY 1943; at which time it's replaced by another static 3d model of a battleship with it's superstructure removed like so:

which lasts from MAY 1943 to NOVEMBER 1943; upon which the model moves to one of pearl's dry docks...

I think this may be because of the European Developers; it's kind of hard for someone who isn't an american to understand Pearl and the ARIZONA. She's sort of like the Royal Oak, Invincible, Queen Mary, Prince of Wales, Repulse etc rolled together for americans.

I loved the super-speedy trucks hooning around the harbours.

One thing i loved was the decks of the japanese carriers being packed with chain smoking sailors...

What an oversight! It's like pulling out of the Hudson River on Sept. 12th/2001 and the World Trade Center is still standing in the background!
