If you are happy with SH3 and all the Mods plus you have limited time, and who dosn't, just keep playing shIII and enjoy.

I still have not been everywere and done everthing in GWX. I still look forward to tuning out the world and going looking for trouble in my IXB.

That does not prevent me from jumping up, grabbing the monitor and screaming: gim me, GIM ME , GIMMMMM MMEEEE......when the subject of SHIV comes up.

Afterwords I just lay on the floor and sob for a while.

Whilst I understand the temptation to wait until the game goes budget, I'm going to buy SH4 now at full price to support Ubisoft and hopefully encourage tham to produce Destroyer Command 2 and SH5.

Lol. While I agree with your sentiments I'll probably go out and buy a copy as soon as I can after it's on the shelves.
One thing that I say to console myself - it can't be that buggy, since it's based on the SH3 engine, so it's not like it's completely new.

You can't enjoy the thrill of watching the sim going through incremental changes with patches and mods if you hold off. Kinda like getting a new game every few weeks .

Wait????:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: You've got to be kidding!!! I think that there will be bugs, but far less than SH3. I'm just hanging out untill my is delivered.

P.S. I ordered the Collector's edition, but I'm in the running to win a copy of the delux edition. The Online shop I pre-ordered from is giving two copies of the DE away to anyone who purchase's a copy of SH4.

I'm a realist. SH4 will undoubtedly contain bugs. So what? SH3 had bugs on release but we lived (and continue to live, despite its still failings and frustrations). It's not like SH4 is a full OS like Vista - that ain't getting anywhere near my computer until at least SP1!

Indeed though, if I waited for "bug free" versions of everything I wanted, then my computer would only contain my products. :rotfl:

Nah, the worst thing with SH4 is that if it is totally unplayable (highly unlikely), then it just sits untouched on my HD until the first patch comes out and then I try again. No dramas - I still have my SH3 to tide me over.

Anyway, I have faith that the modders will see us through 1.1...1.2...1.3...

I would also like to think that the more people who buy SH4 on release will mean the more bugs that will be found will mean the more inclusive the first patch will be.

You must be winning the other copy then.

I say that no way in hell does Ubisoft deserve our trust, faith or praise after the buggy and unfinished mess they released called SH3
I don't remember any more if you were already here when a few of us were spending hours and hours of our spare time trying to mod SH2 and make it more enjoyable. But having done that myself and gone through SH3 problems (SH3 was unistalled in my HDD for a long time) I have never regreted buying at full price SH1, SH2, SH3 and now SH4, and not waiting for them to hit the bargain bin. When you are buying a 1st person shooter you can claim, harrass and insult the company who doesn't do it well (Well OK insult not), as there are dozens of shooters around and it is always a profit market. But when a company dares venturing into the difficult world of pure sims, specially naval sims, it is risking a lot, even if they sell well. I have never regreted putting 50$ in all submarine sims that I have stumbled upon, even some that have been rarely installed more than two days. Ignorance? Nope. I agree completely with Torplexed, had many of us not bought full prize SH1-2-3, none of the "waituntilitsfixedandcheap" would have ever got a copy of SH2-3, because no SH2-3-4 would ever have been done.

Enjoy the wait. I'll send you a postcard from Midway (Bugs included)

"Anyone else going to wait?"

Not me. I'm buying 2 copies.. One for me and one for a friend of mine as a gift who has SHIII but can't afford SHIV at this time.

Don't you wish you had a friend like me?
