hehe....
As you can see, the texture is still translucent, I don't like it that way.... Right now I'm waiting for an answer from Mr Jcwolf, who's my last hope on here to help me find how to remove this annoying translucence.

I will not release it as long as I don't have an answer from Jc. BTW, if anybody has the solution, just give it on this thread, please !

I'd say just add more to the part you don't like...it looks more 3-D when you have inside debris.
As you can see the hole is not totally black. There is different luminocities of debris. This makes it more 3-d and not just flat black.

This is damage done to U.S.S. Cole from the boat attack:

I'd certainly be interested in seeing how the torpedo damage is coming along

Hmmm, with debris inside it looks 3d from the right angle, but form other angles it will look painted on. I reckon pitch black will look more convincing, just my 5 cents.

That's a good idea, Tiki . That's what I did exactly, some weeks ago.
When I add more details on the black hole, the torpedo damage looks very good, yeah.... but on an other hand, the deck gun one have too much details on it, whereas it should have to look like a small black hole. See :

Moreover, about the last picture you've posted, Tiki, I don't think that it was possible to see as much the details through water using the external camera.
So yeah, my actual goal for now is to make the most realistic damage for the deck gun, and for torpedo impact at the same time .

That's what it really is.... cause you know the problem : at the moment we can't make holes.... OB and me are just doing paintings to make it look like a real hole. :p

Whatever the case, it looks great and sure beats a black smudge

Hi Jim , don't worry, this one will be ready soon....
By the way, I would like to know something : what do you think of the white parts around the hole ? It looks good for the deck gun impacts, cause you can see the damage caused by the deck gun better (see the picture below), but I don't know what you think about the torpedo ones....

Looks good, the white around the holes. Too me it looks like the paint has chipped off etc.
