Back. I have to sleep sometimes It was just one of those times

From those pictures, it seems that DNS isnt setup properly.

Lets test that out.

On first system (the one trying to connect) go Start > Run. Type CMD. Then type ping www.google.com

If that gives you error, than type ping 66.102.7.104. If that doesn't work, you have no connectivity. And it's not DNS issue.

( I assume here that you already enabled sharing on server)

2) I have an ADSL connection using a USB router, connected to what has to be the Host. (Local Area Connection 2)
3) I have ticked ICS in the Local Area Connection 2.
4) The client has Local Area Connection 1 only (tcp/ip 192.168.0.2)
Is this how your network is still setup or have you changed things around since posting that message?

I'm not certain you need the hub. With both PC's connected to the router ,it should not only network the 2 PC's as well as share the internet connection to both.Without the need for Windows ICS.

Bye.
Quit being a dork and call your ISP and have them set it up for you since you are obviously in over your head...if you are on a hub a hub is not the same as a router...I think you must have a hub and what you are calling a router is the dsl modem..not a router...it will only work probably on the mac address of the main computer...if you have a Real Router then you can "Spoof" the mac address of the ethernet card in the machine that is able to get onto the internet ...to the router ,and viola a network is created...

That's not very nice Iceman! If you had just spent 12 hours trying with no success you might be a little frustrated too!! I have a single port USB router connected to the net and a 100mhz ethernet hub for the the lan connection.
CptSimFreak, I tried both the first failed & the second made 4 attempts all failed!
Malefactor, the USB router is supplied by my ISP & is a single port el-cheapo!, however it still should work and is the setup in both of these addresses:
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/ics_xp
http://xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4150-1754853,00.html
I have cooled down a little but still no connection!!
I don't know if it helps but this is from my ISP's site:

ADSL settings
encapsulation type (retail plans): PPPoE
multiplex: LLC
VPI/VCI: 8/35
IP address: Automatically

Thanks.

Something has to be working, if I go to either the Client or Host Network Connections - Local area connection 2 properties - advanced - settings, there is a list, on mine they are all unticked, the funny thing is if I tick for example the bottom item Web Server(HTTP) then ok the other PC reflects the change also, so the PC's are talking to each other.
Another thing I noted on the Host is that the ICS is set on Local area connection 2 - the USB router, I tried changing to the Local area connection 1 - the ethernet card, and the clients Local area connection 2 dissapears, obviously doesn't like it!!
Well there goes another 4 hours, still no good!

Found Problem!

Seems that Zonealarm works fine on client but ICS will not work with zonealarm 4 on Host, will look for an update or another firewall program, don't trust windows firewall!
Thanks to those who helped.
Cheers Reece.

Edit: for others who read this I just found that zonealarm will work on Host with ICS:
On Host zonealarm, go to firewall - Main - Advanced - and in ICS set the third one down "This computer is an ICS/NAT Gateway, local address apeared hear automatically for me.
I also ticked the option at bottom. "Suppress alerts..."
Hope this is a help to others!
