Those are confirmed kills through uboat.net's research not finite numbers for the war. There are 53 uboats that uboat.net claims are "lost" and still unaccounted for. The 11 sunk by b-17's are only one's uboat.net has confirmed. It isn't a final number. These statistics represent "kills" not overall "attacks" on uboats. (I'm sure there were many failed attacks on uboats, you are assuming all of the attacks are kills) All uboat.net stats prove based on their sample is that b-24's were more successful at "scoring kills" on uboats than the b-17's.
The uboat my great uncle's crew destroyed was with a bomb load not with depth charges. It was an unexpected attack and the uboat was a target of opporunity. The kills listed on uboat.net are kills by B-17's opperating with depth charges. I know this because I've tried using them as a resource to trace back my great uncle's flight to find out which uboat his crew destroyed. As for worth, that is personal preference, all I am saying is that it would be nice to have to deal with b-17 on occasion, since they were used in the war. In your case, based on your research, you could set the attacks as a 1-7 ratio of the heavy bomber attacks in game. Quote:
