Why is there no side to side sound for scope?

It does get a bit annoying, yes. Especially when on the navigation page, and as you said moving up to snag the speed charts, or the mine and convoy map ones. But nothing's perfect. Anyone know if there's an easy way of disabling it just for the map (F5) view?
