Must agree...the pie chart speaks volumes.

I can't see there being as big a 'protest' vote in a general election though.

I have no doubt that Ed Miliband is a good bloke, but it was the wrong brother that got the job.
Fair points but on the latter one I'll keep my powder dry....I've never met Ed but knew David quite well.

They are like chalk and cheese if my sources are accurate.

Do tell, I must admit after the fall of New Labour I've lost track of a lot of the movers and shakers aside from those who show up in the media.
I mean, on one hand I think it's a good thing that Labour is going back to its socialist roots, but on the other hand I think that it's political suicide in an era where most of the populace are in the centre ground of politics.

People who refuse to vote have NO say in the running of any country.

Don't look at me I voted.

Nuts to Tower Hamlets clearly they have OD on hot chocolate last night.

The Conservatives clearly lost but that lost was not as great as predicted which results in a tougher fight to get back into power but not impossible, dam.

The Liberals clearly being the biggest loser's and the question stands will they have enough MP's to form a another coalition after the general election?

UKIP biggest winners of the night, I didn't expect them to win one council but they have made a start with a big increase in councilors. They clearly are now the 4th party but can they build on it only time will tell.

Labour had a good night but not a great night and I have said on here people don't trust the two Ed's more so for Ed Balls. As for Ed Milliband this has been a wake up call for him riding high in the polls but polls are not votes. Labour now sees walking in to No.10 is not going to be a cake walk as the polls had them thinking.

As it stands Conservatives and Labour have got a tough battle ahead as UKIP snipers take hard shots from the side lines picking up on votes. At best they may get one MP next year. As for the liberals its a case of the survival and for them to think can we risk another coalition with the Tories if they win another hung parliament?

Actually, I'd make voting a legal requirement.

Me too, but I'd also put a 'None of the above' on the voting form.

I rather see people go to there polling stations to do that if they don't like what they see than rather sitting on their arses.

Yes it was an OK night for Labour but I was hoping for a little to propel us into the next general election with more confidence of winning the general election next year.
I was hoping that we could gain 8 to 10 councils along with around 500 councillors.
And I am with STEED about the two Eds so maybe Mr Miliband will show some balls and get rid of Mr Balls.

Yes it was a very good night for UKIP but I am not sure about Nigel Farage, to me he seems a closet Tory.

The Tories had a bad night yes but there again I was hoping it was going be worse with then losing at least 15+ councils and 4 to 500 councillors.

And the Lib Dems got what they deserved.

Now lets see what tomorrow nights results bring....

I see labour are b******* and in fighting over the reasons for their bad showing. One labour MP told his leasder, I told you to take the UKIP seriously instead of writing them off, you blew it.
