Fair enough. Think I'll wait 'till they hit beta. Should be the day XCOM releases.
Been following it for a while, really looks rather fancy.

Yeah, that might be a good idea, or get it now in case they go with the minecraft
route and raise the price once it hits beta. As for the game, anyone who liked the original will feel right at home with this one. It's very similar, which imho is a very good thing. I've seen enough reboots that have missed the good things of the original and thus ruined the whole game. (especially in the X-COM series) Will be interesting to see which way the fans of the original go, Xenonauts or X-COM: EU. I haven't read too much about the new X-COM, but Xeno does have quite a few things that many will surely appreciate. It's cheap, allowing people to play all the versions will be good for bug crushing, it (alpha too) comes with a level editor and some other modding tools and it's more or less a 1:1 remake of the gameplay of the original with some new handy features. Like for example, you can order your interceptor to follow the contact until it is over land before shooting it down and so on. Very much liking where it's going. |

So that's what they meant by 'shoulder shooting'...

And then some. It really improves on it (allegedly, note that I've only been reading about it).
Btw, I have been reading a lot about XCOM as well and it seems absolutely bloody amazing. Not a clue why people are more enthusiastic about Xenonauts and why XCOM is even refered to by some as "X-com-like". Imho any fan worth his salt should be chomping at the bit for both these games, but that's just opinion... Had to get that off my chest.

It really is a win-win situation for the fans. You got Xenonauts if you want to
play the style of the original and you got X-COM:EU if you want a new experience. Oh and anyone getting Xeno, might want to get this one for their alpha: http://www.goldhawkinteractive.com/f...-for-the-alpha 201 new levels that can be used in the campaign game. --------- In other news, Captain Dowly keeps up the SubSim Clowns traditions even under extraterrestial threat. Wow, FTL and Xenonauts are two GREAT indie games. That Star Command game looks interesting too. I also want to see the finished product of the Shadowrun kickstart.
