EAT YOUR HEART OUT! I BOUGHT THE TRAPDOOR ON A LONGHAUL TRUCKING TRIP IN SOME LITTLE TOWN IN TEXAS IN A RUN DOWN GUNSHOP; IT WAS MISSING THE FIRING PIN WHICH MY OWN RUN DOWN GUN SHOP IN SAN JOSÉ JUST HAPPENED TO HAVE ON HAND IN HIS JUNK BOX. I RECALL I PAID $125 FOR THE RIFLE AND $25 FOR THE PIN AND SMITHING TO INSTALL IT. THIS WAS 1977 OR SO. I SHOOT TWIN '51 NAVY .36'S; ONE A UBERTI, AND MY 'FIELD GUN'S A LYMAN FOR REENACTING. REMEMBER TO BRING THE REMINGTON .44 VERTICLE WHEN COCKING SO THAT EXPENDED WARPED PERCUSSUION CAPS FALL FROM THE RECIEVER AND DOES NOT JAMB THE CYLINDER. WHIC WOULD REQUIRE A BREAKDOWN OF THE BARREL AND CYLINDER TO CLEAR. HENCE TWO REVOLVERS: ONE IN EACH HAND: ONE BEING FIRED WHILE ONE IS BEING VERTICLED FOR A JAMB FREE CYLINDER ROTATION- OF SERIOUS CONSEQUENCE IF YOUR LIFE'S ON THE LINE.....ON THE MEAN STREETS OF DODGE CITY NOTE COCKING ACTION IN VIDEO AND HAVE SPARE SPRING AND HAND KIT FOR HASTY REPAIRS...IN YER 'POSSIBLE BAG' OL' PARD>

Once had Colt 2nd gen .36 Navy I would have to shake out a primer from time to time. But, knock on wood, Ive never had that problem with my Uberti New Model Army .44's. Not sure if its because of the top strap, primer fit or if I've become such an expert shootist.

Not long now before my jury service commences (now that ex-force lifetime exemption has been reduced to five years) and having made a fuss about my feet problems have managed to blag a space in the court car park.
Little apples and all that

Just ordered a SupaLite roof for the conservatory. Work should commence within two to three weeks, plenty of time for summer.

Having just spent a large amount on several heavy 3' pottery vases for outdoor roses etc. atop the rock trim front yard border for Spring planting; what is the white pottery item on your patio? My brother's home in Pennsylvania has a conservatory; I admire them....& wish I had one.

^ That's not my patio but a picture from the internet to show what the roof will look like when fitted

Doing a little bit of work on my new Body Armour.
Yeah. I end up in some pretty scary neighborhoods at times so got me some protection. |

I wear a level three kevlar Safariland with steel shockplate myself. On a 100 degree F. day in San Francisco, trudging back uphill in full gear on Post Street to Union Square parking (and my oasis of automotive AC) gives one a clear understanding of why heatstroke was one of the leading causes of death in the Crusades...

I figured you'd comment. LOL!
Mines a lower level that offers protection from knives and low cal weapons. Better then a tee shirt thought! And it has pockets for plates if I need to get a higher protection level. Being in Atlanta, Georgia, Nashville, Tennessee, and other areas? Mostly low income sections? I'm getting more concerned about surviving. |

We survived the storm-force winds yesterday, so strong that most of us were under an "amber" weather warning and advised not to go out unless absolutely necessary
So what goes trotting past our house at lunchtime? A jogger! As a curmudgeon, I mostly have no time for these people, figuring they're hurrying themselves along to the churchyard, whereas me... I plan to make the slowest progress possible Plenty of dead trees around here means that always after storms the roads are littered with fallen branches. Idiot
