I, Dowly aka The Finnish Ferret, hereby claim the immediate area and the
mountains in the vicinity of my first mobtower/DLR station (look right just before making the turn to the mobtower station) as mine. Yes, I'm moving again (that'd be the 3rd time I think). ![]() If someone wants Ferreton (no Nether gates nearby to mess things), take it and do what you want with it. Just let me get my things from the warehouse first. The ferreton embassy will be renamed when I have settled in to my new place. And so on. |

Would someone do me a favor? Can one of you upload a pic of your Minecraft launcher for me?
![]() This is what mine currently looks like, but I saw a video of someone starting MC where they have more options (i.e a feed from Mojang and such that allows them to pick if they want to update or not...) Just want to know if I'm lacking due to mac or if it was just confusion. Thanks

Thar, sneaked in a "funded" project (meaning I spawned my ass off). It's a small building on the surface with a ladder and staircase extending down to bedrock.
![]() There is an open cave at the bottom, 20x20x6, with a ladder connecting to another 2 such chambers above it. I cheated a bit and used a tool to figure out where a slime-spawning chunk was near spawn and centered those chambers in it. Since slimes are so hard to find, it's nice to have a place where you know they should be spawning. Seems to be working. ![]() Crap. I'll be prettying it up a bit, but it's functional. All the ill-gotten gains I dumped in the chests at spawn, free for the taking. Some good stuff there imho, mostly cobble though. Also: ![]() Neat.

Bloody hell... seems we lose the Nether everytime going back and forth from normal to bukkit.
There's something I can't figure out: the files are there, it just isn't used. When I restored a back-up Nether after thinking it was overwritten, the old one popped back up so it's just fine. Is there something I can do to point Bukkit to the correct files? It certainly isn't putting files where they are supposed to be, since the Nether files that are where they should be aren't overwritten. ![]() * Nevermind, fixed it. Bloody Bukkit, could have made that a bit easier.

"Internal exception: java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: recv failed" bug is back with a vengance for me. Can't connect at all. Oh and I am not amused with whoever teleported me. <glares in dowly's direction> |

Well the Tp was to get you unstuck. We figured you were the victim of an extremely laggy environment (forest fire comes to mind) and tried to get you out. 'T was me that started the teleporting.
Lemme know if there's something to try on this end.

Ah I see. No there is no lag, it just starts loading the zone I am in for a few seconds, then everything stops and I exit with the error a minute or 2 later.
I did some reading up on it and it seems to be a bug with the code which notch has yet to fix (in fact it seems to be even more of a problem with the more recent version). In the past it would take a few tries to load successfully and then I would be fine, but this time it isn't working at all. |
