No, the weapon system in question does not use a rocket engine.

Is it part of the torpedo system or not? I see what appears to be the props of a torp, but not sure what if the green item is a torp or not or maybe countermeasures.....

I've got several guesses, but anyway,.....

Some type of fuel cylinder for charging a torpedo with fuel, like Otto Fuel?

It is a part of torpedo (which torpedo?), but not for charging it with fuel.

Is it some sort of system for loading?

It does have a propulsion system similar to the mk48. The gray cylinder is indeed loaded into the torpedo tube with the weapon.

It is indeed a russian/soviet design and although the gray cylinder 8th about as archaic as SET65 (reason for that being that all weapons mist be loaded automatically, without human intervention), the weapon itself is not.

Also, who said that it isn't wire guided?

It is the UGST indeed. The grey cylinder is for storing the guidance wire.

my post 2832, course I said fire by wire system, but think that should be the same..

Been on the wrong end of that a few times. Nice to get a proper look at the real thing.

Right then. What is this?
