The missile(S) launched from Yemen may not have been targeted on Israel.

Yemen has been chucking short range ballistics and drones at Saudi Arabia for a while now. I'd wait a bit before I assumed they were aimed at Israel or north eastern Egypt. I don't think Yemen has that kind of range.

Of course, Israel and Egypt were supposed to normalize relations so maybe they were pay-back or a warning to Egypt?

Sooner or later Irans military aid to different terror group will one day backfire.

Yemen missiles has that kind of range. The liquid-propellant missile that the Houthis has is the Toufan, which appears to be a rebranded Iranian Ghadr. The Toufan could have a 1,350–1,950 km range, potentially enough to place Israel within striking distance. In the past, the Houthis have made threats against Eilat and Tel Aviv. Iran continues to upgrade its long-range precision weaponry and, at least until recently, helped its local Yemeni ally Ansarullah to do the same with its own arsenal. With Iranian assistance, the Houthis have managed to build up an array of precision-guided rockets, ballistic missiles, land-attack cruise missiles and anti-shipping capabilities in a remarkably short period of time.

I think Iran will avoid sparking a major confrontation with a technologically superior foe Markus, those oil fields they've got will make a tempting target for any retaliatory strikes, Iran will know this as well so they wont want that to happen or it will send their economy into meltdown.
No, they'll hide in the shadows as usual just like they always do, but, one day they might make a huge mistake which they can't back out of and, who knows what will happen then?.

I guess you're right- Maybe Iran seeks a military cooperation with Iraq and Syria. Iran and Syria is already working together, don't know about Iraq.

Well I think Iran is seeking support among the Islamic countries. First they will seek help from Iraq among the few.

However this could very well lead to a regional war down there.

Israel now has a certain period of time in which international sympathy is clearly on its side, on the side of the attacked. They must use this period of time and try to hit Hamas seriously now. But the longer this takes and the conflict becomes more brutal in its implementation, the more difficult it will be for the Israelis to withstand international pressure.

Israel's military has vowed to intensify air strikes on Gaza and has warned Palestinians still in the north of the territory to flee south.

A military spokesman said this would allow Israel to "minimise the risks to our forces in the next stages of the war" - which is expected to be a ground invasion.

Meanwhile, Hamas says 55 people were killed in air raids on Gaza overnight - Israel says it killed "dozens of terrorists"

Graphic images show the bodies of about a dozen dead children, and many other Palestinians, at a hospital morgue in central Gaza. It is not clear when or where they died.

Separately, the Israeli military says it struck a Hamas cell sheltering in a mosque in the occupied West Bank.

The UN hopes it can get more aid into Gaza today - after vital supplies yesterday reached people for the first time since fighting erupted.

It's two weeks since Hamas launched its assault on Israel, killing more than 1,400 people. Palestinian officials say more than 4,300 have been killed in Gaza since then.
