Perhaps the reason you did not know this is for the same reason no one knows this, as simple observation of bat colonies show bats leaving in multiple directions in all three dimensions.

As a replacement, I would offer the Honduran White Bat is snow white with a yellow nose and ears, which is not surprising for a bat called a White Bat. But what is interesting is that White Bats will cut large leaves to make a "tent" to keep the young in the colony dry from jungle rains.

They only make the tent from the leaf of a

Heliconia plant. (it's all Greek 2 me!

) When the sun shines through the leaves of their tent, it makes the bats' white coat appear green, making them hard to spot! However, their tent is not home sweet home for long. The bats rarely return to the same tent for more than a day.
