The coloring seems WWII German to me so complete stab in the dark some part of a Bf110. Makes me think of the cowling just before the propeller hub rear on a Messerschmidt.

But the angle seems off for that it looks upright or the photo could be from below looking up.

Nah, german coloring was green top and light-blue bottom.
