I just found out today that IF I come back up to the Northwestern Ontario area next year I can keep my Freightshaker AND they will put whatever toys/repairs on it I want up to and including a new motor if it needs it. YA HOO!! Dual 8" straight pipes coming up!

Maybe a bit off topic, I'm not a truck driver.

Virtual trucker though, Euro Truck Simulator 2.

I wanted to be a truck driver when I was a kid though.

Straight pipes are nice, especially on a Scania V8! Brings a smile to my face when one of those goes by.

Found a clip from YT:

You can hear those from several kilometres away.

The same motor I have with different body. Mine is a Freightliner.

I am half deaf (too many rock concerts and 'floor' tickets) anyway, so the noise doesn't bother me.

I prefer mufflers so I can hear when the turbo charger lets go and to keep the jake from waking up the co-driver.

I don't do the sleeper team thing. I did it twice, the first and last time.

Euro Trucker 2 makes driving look easy.
Scania V8 sounds ok but nothing beats the old Detroit Diesels.

Lots of places will ticket you for have a loud jake anymore. Youll see signs no compression brakes.

What makes me laugh are the guys with full size pickups pretending to be big rigs with the pipes and loud waste gates.

I am with swamprat screw team driving.

In towns I usually shut the Jake off. It is only really effective at speeds over 50mph anyway.

Yeah more of a "cool" thing like canted foward cb anttena. Not really my thing and most people are not paying attention anyway.

I am happy with my dog sitting in the passenger seat watching world zip by.

I got the official word today. The company won't go for the dual 8"pipes, so when I come up next year I will just gut another muffler. Just like I did this one, and add a 5-7 adapter and go with a 7" pipe.

As long as I pass my medical (68 this fall), I will be driving for them.

Is it harder in Canada? The DOT one is pretty easy. I was suprised the first time I took one. No walk like a duck to test if you can squat or anything. Course I have good blood pressure and all of that. Dont have sleep apnea.

As long as your blood pressure isn't through the roof and you can see out of both eyes 20/30 or better and can hear you are good to go. It helps if you have all your limbs. You can't be an insulin dependent diabetic or a junky either. They don't test for sleep apnea.
